Heidfeld richt zich op wereldtitel, niet op eerste zege

BMW Sauber-coureur Nick Heidfeld heeft in tegenstelling tot teamgenoot Robert Kubica nog geen Grand Prix-zege achter zijn naam staan. De Duitser is qua doelstelling echter al een stap verder. Hij wil dit jaar om de wereldtitel meedoen. Heidfeld op Crash.net Radio: Uiteindelijk gaat het niet om die eerste overwinning, ik wil wereldkampioen worden.

Hij vervolgt: Ik word er vaak naar gevraagd, maar ik denk dat de pers meer met mijn eerste zege bezig is dan ik. Ik raak er niet van in de war dat ik nog niet gewonnen heb. Ik focus me daar ook niet op, want dat zou niet helpen. Ik geloof dat ik in staat ben om te winnen als de juiste situatie zich voordoet en de auto top is. Tot dusver is mijn teamgenoot één keer in de positie gekomen om te winnen en dat was vorig jaar in Canada. Daar had ik ook kunnen zegevieren, wat niet gebeurde door de tactische keuzes van het team.
