FIA-president gelooft niet in Grand Prix in Rome

Een Grand Prix in de straten van Rome is een mooie droom, maar in de praktijk krijg je dat niet zomaar voor elkaar. Max Mosley, voorzitter van de internationale autosportbond FIA, gelooft niet dat een race in de Italiaanse hoofdstad tot de mogelijkheden behoort.

Het zou mij verrassen als er een Grand Prix in Rome komt, vertelt de FIA-president. Ik weet uit ervaring hoeveel geld en moeite het kost om een race in de straten van Monaco te houden. Bovendien heeft Italië talrijke permanente racecircuits. Maar goed, dit is meer een kwestie voor Bernie (Ecclestone, red.), dit is niet mijn probleem.
