Raikkonen heeft de smaak van rallyrijden goed te pakken

Als we de Finse media mogen geloven, heeft voormalig wereldkampioen Kimi Raikkonen echt zin gekregen in het rallyrijden. Onlangs reed de Ferrari-coureur de Arctic Lapland Rally. Hij nam deel in een Fiat Abarth Grande Punto S2000 en eindigde niet geheel onverdienstelijk als dertiende in de eindrangschikking.

Volgens de laatste berichten heeft Raikkonen nu zijn zinnen gezet op deelname aan de Vaakuna Rally, die op 20 en 21 februari wordt georganiseerd. Volgens de planning zal de coureur tegen die tijd pas net zijn teruggekeerd van de tweeweekse testperiode van Ferrari in Bahrein.

Om mee te mogen doen zou Raikkonen eerst toestemming moeten vragen aan teambaas Stefano Domenicali en Ferrari-president Luca di Montezemolo. Echter, als we Raikkonens navigator Kaj Lindstrom mogen geloven, doet de Finse coureur gewoon mee aan de rally. Er is een realistische kans dat we inderdaad mee zullen doen, maar meer kan ik op dit moment niet zeggen, heeft Lindstrom verklaard.
