Fans belangrijk onderdeel van visie USF1

Formule 1-fans krijgen bij USF1 de kans om dichter dan ooit bij een Formule 1-renstal te komen. Dat stelde mede-initiator Peter Windsor bij de presentatie op Speed TV. Als ik iets van mijn tijd in Charlotte heb geleerd, dan is het wel dat de NASCAR-teams geweldig werk leveren voor hun fans.

Hij vervolgt: Deze wereld bestaat uit entertainment. We zitten al dicht bij Speed TV en krijgen ook faciliteiten voor televisieproductie in onze fabriek. We maken er een fanvriendelijk team van, niet alleen in Amerika, maar wereldwijd. De fans zijn welkom in ons hoofdkwartier, kunnen een rondleiding krijgen, mogen het ontwerp en de bouw van een auto zien. Voor het eerst krijgen ze de kans om een Formule 1-team van binnenuit te zien en te voelen.

Het wordt een geweldige ervaring om hier langs te komen. We krijgen een fantastische fabriek die zich kan meten met de fabrieken in Europa. We zijn geen McLaren of Ferrari, want die historie missen we, maar we doen het op onze eigen manier. Neem bijvoorbeeld Michael Waltrip en de manier waarop hij zijn team runt. Dat is een schoolvoorbeeld van hoe je een autosportrenstal fanvriendelijk kan maken.

Een van de problemen van de Formule 1 in de Verenigde Staten is dat de teams zich niet goed presenteren en het voor fans moeilijk te begrijpen is waar deze sport om draait. Techniek is erg belangrijk en er gaat veel geld in om, maar niemand spreekt er duidelijk over en de technologie is niet zichtbaar. Wij hebben hier de mogelijkheid om de Formule 1 aan Amerika te verkopen en er lopen hier zat mensen die deze sport een warm hart toedragen.

lol ieder team gaat daar wel even kijken als ze het ontwerp zo makkelijk prijsgeven

Tussen meekijken bij de bouw en een ontwerp prijsgeven zit nog wel een verschil. Denk niet dat je in 5 minuten rondkijken alle ins en outs van een ontwerp kan zien!

Anyway, als ik eens in de buurt ben neem ik zo\'n tour wel! Vind het een puik plan van de over het algemeen bijzonder vervelende Amerikanen!
