Karting mogelijk vanaf 2010 in voorprogramma Grands Prix

Veel van de huidige Formule 1-coureurs zijn begonnen in de karting en vanaf 2010 krijgt de kartsport mogelijk een prominente rol in Grand Prix-weekenden. Bernie Ecclestone staat namelijk achter het plan om karting op te nemen in het voorprogramma van Europese Grands Prix, zo meldt F1-live.com.

Het gaat hierbij om de Formula Kart Stars, voorheen beter bekend als The Stars of Tomorrow. McLaren-coureur en wereldkampioen Lewis Hamilton is het boegbeeld van de kartserie. Lewis heeft onze serie altijd gesteund en hij is altijd betrokken gebleven sinds hij tien jaar geleden in deze serie racete, aldus Carolynn Hoy, Formula Kart Stars-directrice.
