Bahrein hoopt te profiteren van kredietcrisis

In Bahrein hopen ze dat de economische crisis een positieve invloed op de bezoekersaantallen voor de eigen Grand Prix zal hebben. Ze richten zich daarbij vooral op Europese fans, die door de financiële malaise zich geen reis naar Australië, Maleisië of China meer kunnen veroorloven.

Bahrein is ook niet goedkoop, maar wel minder duur dan verre reizen naar de eerste drie races, zo redeneert circuitdirecteur Martin Whitaker in Gulf Daily News. We verwachten dat veel toeschouwers die normaal gesproken naar races ver weg zouden gaan nu voorzichtig naar Bahrein kijken. Jammer genoeg moet iedereen in deze tijden letten op zijn cash flow, maar we denken toch kans te maken als substituut voor de races in Australië, Maleisië en China.
