Renault dreigt zich terug te trekken uit de Formule 1

Renault heeft bij monde van chief operating officer Patrick Pelata laten weten dat de kosten en inkomsten van het Formule 1-team moeten veranderen, willen de Fransen in de sport actief blijven. De personeelskosten moeten omlaag en de FOTA zal morgen om een groter deel van de televisiepot eisen, zo is de verwachting.

Voor Renault absoluut noodzakelijk, zo sprak Pelata op de Geneva Motor Show. We zijn van plan om de contractkosten terug te brengen en zijn op zoek naar een groter deel van de televisiegelden, circuitbijdragen en circuitsponsors. We willen deel uit blijven maken van de emotie en het spektakel van de Formule 1, maar alles heeft zijn grens.
