Ecclestone: "Ik krijg niet de indruk dat de crisis ons echt raakt"

De Formule 1 heeft nog niet zo te lijden onder de wereldwijde economische crisis. Dat meldt Bernie Ecclestone in The Guardian. Het vertrek van Honda en enkele sponsors daargelaten houden de sport en de teams zich goed staande.

Volgens Ecclestone nemen de teams dit jaar zelfs meer mensen mee naar de Grands Prix, in plaats van te bezuinigen op personeel. Ik heb niet de indruk dat de crisis ons echt raakt, wat een grote verrassing is. Je zou denken dat teams de kosten terugbrengen en minder personeel meenemen naar races. Maar ze nemen juist meer werknemers mee. Dat weet ik omdat wij de accreditaties afhandelen.
