Alexander verlaat McLaren na jarenlange trouwe dienst

Tyler Alexander houdt het later deze maand na 46 jaar voor gezien bij McLaren. De Amerikaan begon in 1963 als monteur bij Bruce McLaren en bleef op een korte pauze in de jaren tachtig na altijd verbonden met de renstal. Hij overzag de laatste jaren vooral de speciale projecten van McLaren.

McLaren-voorzitter Ron Dennis: McLaren representeert de modernste technologie, maar wij respecteren en waarderen ook onze afkomst. Slechts weinigen vertegenwoordigen die beide waarden zo goed als Tyler Alexander. Dat hij in al die tijd belangrijk voor ons raceteam is gebleven is een teken van zijn passie voor de sport, aanpassingsvermogen, ervaring en intelligentie.

Hij is een legende die elke decennium van dit team in de Formule 1 heeft meegemaakt. We zullen hem koesteren en zijn dagelijkse betrokkenheid bij ons bedrijf zeker missen. Iedereen binnen de McLaren Group en Vodafone McLaren Mercedes wenst Tyler een rustige en creatieve tijd voor de toekomst.
