Renault rijdt in Melbourne met KERS

Het team van Renault bevestigt als eerste team de gok te wagen om bij de eerste race met het nieuwe KERS te rijden. De Franse renstal acht het energie hergebruikende systeem klaar voor gebruik en in Melbourne zit de technologie in de R29.

McLaren, BMW Sauber en Ferrari twijfelen nog over de montage van KERS in hun auto’s voor de Australische Grand Prix. De resterende zes teams meldden eerder al in Albert Park zonder het systeem aan de start te verschijnen.
