Heidfeld en Rosberg tegen nieuw kampioenschapmodel

BMW Sauber-coureur Nick Heidfeld en Williams-rijder Nico Rosberg hebben zich duidelijk tegen de nieuwe manier om de kampioen te bepalen opgesteld. Rosberg was kort in zijn commentaar, de Duitser liet alleen weten dat hij het nieuwe systeem 'onzin' vindt.

Heidfeld had tegenover persbureau SID een uitgebreidere verklaring. Het is een kwestie van smaak en dit is zeker niet mijn smaak. Ik vind een puntentelling beter, dat is begrijpelijk. Bovendien draait een jaargang niet om races op zich, een seizoen gaat over zeventien of achttien races. Op mij komt het ook vreemd over dat de kampioen uiteindelijk minder punten kan hebben dan de nummer twee, terwijl de rest van de stand wel op basis van punten wordt opgemaakt. Dat is raar, het zou voor iedereen hetzelfde moeten zijn.
