Klien verzorgt demonstratie voor slachtoffers bosbranden

BMW Sauber-testrijder Christian Klien, oud-teambaas Paul Stoddart en oud-coureur Zsolt Baumgartner hebben geprobeerd het leed in het door bosbranden geteisterde gebied in Australië te verlichten. Op een parcours van 220 meter in het zwaar getroffen Kinglake verzorgde Klien een demonstratie, terwijl Baumgartner in een tweezitter van Stoddart passagiers vervoerde.

Klien vertelde na afloop: In Europa zagen we op de televisie beelden van de bosbranden en vanochtend zag ik toen ik met de helikopter over vloog wat een gevolgen de branden hebben voor het land. Het was leuk om de mensen hier weer wat op te vrolijken door met onze Formule 1-auto te rijden. Het is toch mooi om een lach op de gezichten van de kinderen te zien en ik deed dit met alle plezier.
