Hamilton: "Het was te gevaarlijk om door te gaan"

Wereldkampioen Lewis Hamilton vertelt dat de Grand Prix van Maleisië, de meeste gevaarlijke race was die hij ooit heeft meegemaakt. De race op Sepang werd na 32 ronden afgevlagd omdat het voor de coureurs niet meer mogelijk was om de autos onder controle te houden. Zelfs achter de safety car hadden de coureurs er moeite mee hun auto op de baan te houden. Toen besloot de wedstrijdleiding om de rode vlag uit te zwaaien.

Toen het begon te regenen was het onmogelijk om door te rijden. Ik voer gewoon over de baan. De auto was niet meer te besturen. Dit was het meest gevaarlijke moment dat ik ooit heb meegemaakt in mijn carrière, verteld de Brit die als zevende werd afgevlagd.

Alles wat ik kon doen is proberen de auto op de baan te houden. Het was de juiste beslissing om de race af te breken. Het was voor iedereen gewoon veel te gevaarlijk. Ik hou van regen, maar dit was gekkenwerk, aldus Hamilton.

Voor Heikki Kovalainen, was de race net als in Australië al na één ronde voorbij. De Fin verloor de controle over zijn auto en schoot van de baan af.

Mijn start was goed. Ik probeerde achter Lewis aan te sluiten, maar toen verloor ik mijn achterkant en spinde ik van de baan. Het was mijn fout. Over en uit, aldus Kovalainen.

  Ik weet het niet hoor maar vaarde is gewoon voltooid verleden tijd van varen... misschien moet je eerst even in het woordenboek kijken van je (moers taal).... en niet moerstaal
