Video: FIA-official crasht met Renault R28

Mohammed bin Sulayem, voorzitter van de automobielclub van de Verenigde Arabische Emiraten, is tijdens de Renault Roadshow in Dubai gecrasht met een R28. De FIA-official moest naar het medisch centrum, maar bleek ongedeerd. De auto raakte flink beschadigd.

Eerder had Bin Sulayem, veertienvoudig rallykampioen van het Midden-Oosten, een run op een verlaten weg succesvol afgerond, maar tijdens de demonstratie ging het op het rechte stuk mis. De R28 sloeg naar rechts en knalde in de betonnen muur aan de rand van het parkoers. Een woordvoerder van Renault meldde: Gelukkig is niemand gewond geraakt. De auto moet terug voor reparatiewerkzaamheden.
