Brawn GP was tijdens de eerste twee races van 2009 het toonaangevende team. De bliksemstart van de Britse renstal bestond uit een dubbelzege in Australië en een overwinning in Maleisië. Coureur Jenson Button haalde de maximale score uit de eerste twee Grands Prix, wat door de voortijdig afgevlagde race op Sepang uit vijftien punten bestaat.

De Engelsman denkt dat het moeilijk wordt om de suprematie komend weekend in China vast te houden. Button: Na de spanning van de eerste twee races was het lekker om even op adem te komen. Ik ben extreem verheugd met onze seizoensstart. Echter, iedereen binnen ons team is zich ervan bewust dat we pas twee Grands Prix gehad hebben en de concurrentie staat niet stil.

We verwachten een zwaar gevecht in China waar wij gaan proberen om onze successen een passend vervolg te geven. Het circuit van Sjanghai is leuk en uitdagend voor de coureurs. Ik geniet vooral van de hogesnelheidsbochten en de inhaalmogelijkheid in de hairpin aan het einde van het achterste lange rechte stuk.
