Mallya: "Verbeteringen rechtvaardigen overstap naar Mercedes"

Force India plukt nu al de vruchten van de samenwerking met Mercedes. Dat stelt teameigenaar Vijah Mallya. Het leverde Force India weliswaar nog geen punten op, maar de Indiase zakenman ziet genoeg aanknopingspunten om tevreden te zijn.

Mallya: Vorig jaar was vooral een leerjaar voor het team en op basis van die lessen heb ik afgelopen winter wat veranderingen doorgevoerd. Het doet me deugd dat de overstap naar de aandrijving van McLaren-Mercedes soepel is verlopen, het is betrouwbaar en de rijders hebben laten weten dat de mechanische balans en grip tot nu toe goed zijn.

Niemand sluit uit dat wij punten gaan scoren, dat toont wel aan dat we de juiste beslissing hebben genomen. Ook in het management is het een en ander gewijzigd. De samenhang binnen het team is gegroeid, iedereen werkt met hetzelfde doel en dat is positief. Dus ja, ik voel dat deze verbeteringen onze keuzes van eind vorig jaar rechtvaardigen.
