Red Bull Racing voelt druk om te winnen toenemen

Een eerste Grand Prix-zege zou de druk van het moeten winnen kunnen verlagen, maar die vlieger gaat voor Red Bull Racing niet op. De Oostenrijkse renstal boekte in China de allereerste overwinning. Die last is van de schouders gevallen, de winst zorgt echter wel voor hogere verwachtingen. Teambaas Christian Horner antwoordde op de vraag van Autosport of dit de druk zal doen afnemen: Nee, helemaal niet zelfs.

Hij vervolgt: Het heeft het omgekeerde effect. De druk is nu om dit succes een passend vervolg te geven. De verwachtingen veranderen, we staan door dit resultaat op de kaart en men zal ons nu nog meer serieus nemen. Onze auto heeft veel potentieel, dat werd al snel duidelijk. Ik denk dat er nog meer uit te halen valt. Het is te vroeg om te zeggen of we een kampioenskandidaat zijn, maar we staan nu in ieder geval stevig op het scorebord. Komend weekend wacht een compleet andere uitdaging en de lange rechte stukken in Bahrein zijn misschien in het voordeel van de autos met KERS.
