Toyota hoopt winst te halen uit test in Bahrein

Bahrein vormt de locatie voor de vierde Grand Prix van het huidige seizoen. Voorafgaand aan de jaargang besloten drie teams daar twee weken te testen. Tot die renstallen behoorde Toyota, dat in Bahrein bijna 3.000 kilometer aflegde. De daar vergaarde informatie moet komend weekend extra van pas komen.

Senior general manager chassis Pascal Vasselon: We hebben tijdens die test in Bahrein enorm veel ronden gereden en dat was zeer nuttig voor de ontwikkeling van de TF109. Het zou ook van pas moeten komen voor komend weekend, aangezien wij ervaring hebben met de afstelling van de nieuwe auto op dit circuit en we hebben hier al data over de slicks verzameld.

Beide bandensoorten presteerden vrij goed in representatieve omstandigheden, dus op dat gebied verwachten we geen problemen. Bahrein is daarentegen zwaar voor de remmen, die krijgen het volgens onze verwachtingen hier zwaarder te verduren dan in elke andere race dit seizoen.
