Horner: "Optie BMW Sauber op Vettel bestaat niet meer"

De optie die BMW Sauber op Sebastian Vettel had bestaat al een tijdje niet meer. Dat zegt Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner in Sport Bild. Volgens hem is die optie vervallen op het moment dat BMW Sauber Vettel naar Scuderia Toro Rosso liet gaan. De geruchten over een terugkeer naar de Duitse renstal zijn dus ongegrond.

Horner antwoordde op de vraag of BMW Sauber nog een optie heeft met: Absoluut niet. Ze hadden hem in de gelederen kunnen hebben, ze hadden een optie op Sebastian met de voorwaarde dat ze hem een racestoeltje gaven voor 2008. Halverwege 2007 lieten ze hem naar de Red Bull-familie, naar Scuderia Toro Rosso, gaan en verloren ze de rechten op hem.
