Richards twijfelt nog aan identiteit nieuw Formule 1-project

David Richards is er nog niet uit of en, zo ja, onder welke naam hij wederom gaat proberen om met een eigen team tot de Formule 1 toe te treden. Het budgetlimiet dat vanaf 2010 van kracht gaat is in het voordeel van privéteams en Richards heeft altijd laten weten dat hij als de kosten verantwoord zijn een nieuwe poging wil ondernemen. De vorige keer was met zijn racebedrijf Prodrive, nu wellicht met zijn sportautomerk Aston Martin.

De knopen zijn nog niet doorgehakt, zo laat Richards tijdens een bezoek aan Qatar aan de lokale krant Peninsula weten. “Het is niet absoluut zeker dat Aston Martin het merk wordt waarmee we naar de Formule 1 willen. Het is voor ons belangrijk dat er stabiliteit en een breed gedragen richting voor de toekomst van de Formule 1 is. Dat is voor ons cruciaal bij de besluitvorming.”

    die richards begind mooi op een bluffer te lijken met zijn gezeur. heeft die man aandacht nodig ofzo? elk jaar hoor/lees je zijn naam weer maar daaden? zie het niet gebeuren de man speeld te veel op safe!

      Zo te lezen ben jij een behoorlijke bluffer in het Nederlandse klaslokaal!

      Dave Richards wilde eerst met Pro Drive (i.s.m. McLaren) de Formule 1 in maar dat liep stuk omdat de financiën niet op orde kwamen. De man is gewoon een groot autosport fan en wil dolgraag de hoogste tak van de autosport in, alleen wil niet dat zijn team spoedig weer verkocht zal worden. Zie Super Aguri, Spijker &gt; Midland &gt; Jordan en Steward Racing de afgelopen 10 jaar.

    Er is nog helemaal niets zeker. Is dan toch ook logisch dat Richards een slag om de arm houdt?

    Het waren niet budgettaire redenen waarom Prodrive niet naar de F1 kwam.
    Prodrive won het toegangskaartje naar de f1 op basis van zijn staat van dienst in andere autosport klassen en de fantastische faciliteiten welke prodrive ter beschikking heeft. Maar in plaats dat Prodrive aan het werk ging om zelf een wagen te ontwikkelen, zijn ze een deal gaan sluiten met mcLaren. Toen klantenauto\'s - naar mijn mening terecht - niet toegestaan werden, had Prodrive dus geen wagen en dus geen entry...

    Klopt, dat was het inderdaad! Hopelijk pakken ze deze kans dan beter op dan de vorige, wat geen slechte manier is om de Formule 1 in te komen.
