Grindbak en bandenstapels bocht 9 in Barcelona aangepast

McLaren-rijder Heikki Kovalainen vloog vorig jaar tijdens de race op het circuit van Barcelona keihard van de baan in bocht 9 en schoof onder de bandenstapels. Om een herhaling te voorkomen heeft de circuitleiding aanpassingen doorgevoerd.

Het Circuit de Catalunya wijzigde de grindbak aan de buitenzijde van bocht 9. Het einde loopt nu meer omhoog om de autos meer af te remmen. Ook is er een extra bescherming om de bandenstapels geplaatst, zodat eronder schuiven niet meer mogelijk moet zijn.

Andere veranderingen aan het circuit voor de Grand Prix van Spanje van komend weekend betreffen een asfalt uitloopstrook in plaats van grind in bocht 3 en verbeterde drainage en bandenstapels in bochten 1 en 10.
