Vettel: "Wij doen absoluut mee voor het kampioenschap"

Red Bull Racing-coureur Sebastian Vettel heeft geen zin meer om zijn ambities te verschuilen. Hij maakt kans op de titel en die kans wil hij niet laten lopen. Hij roept zijn werkgever op om nu echt aan het kampioenschap te gaan denken.

Vettel: Bij elke race kan je maximaal tien punten scoren. Elke Grand Prix maakt deel uit van het kampioenschap en als je titelambities hebt is het zaak om telkens zo veel mogelijk punten te pakken. Wij doen absoluut mee voor die titel, we hebben een zeer competitieve auto en daar moeten we gebruik van maken. Het zal echter niet makkelijk worden. Niemand zal zo aardig zijn om ons zonder problemen voorbij te laten.

De Duitser is niet bang dat dit soort uitspraken voor extra druk zorgt. Ik vind het juist mooi om zon doel te stellen. Je doet altijd je best, maar het vizier moet op winnen staan. We verkeren in een goede positie. We kunnen nog veel beter en er is nog een lange weg te gaan. Het kampioenschap telt nog dertien races, niets is nog beslist. Jenson Button staat er nu het best voor, maar wie weet hoe de situatie over vier Grands Prix is.
