IRL: Dixon wint in Milwaukee, Doornbos veertiende

Scott Dixon heeft de race in Milwaukee op zijn naam geschreven. De regerend kampioen maakte in de slotfase handig gebruik van aarzeling bij Ryan Briscoe bij het op een ronde zetten van Tomas Scheckter. Dario Franchitti eindigde als derde.

Robert Doornbos kwam niet verder dan de veertiende plaats. De Newman/Haas/Lanigan-coureur startte de race als twaalfde en won twee plekken bij de start, maar zakte daarna steeds verder weg. De veertiende positie leverde hem nog zestien punten op.

Doornbos: Ik had een goede start en passeerde meteen een paar coureurs. Vervolgens verslechterde de auto en verloor ik alleen maar terrein. Frustrerend, helemaal als je ziet dat je teamgenoot het wel goed voor elkaar heeft. Deze ervaring nemen we weer mee. Texas is waarschijnlijk een beter circuit voor me en ik kijk uit naar die race.
