Naast March en Lola heeft nog een historische naam zich ingeschreven voor het wereldkampioenschap Formule 1. Het Zwitserse blad Motorsport Aktuell meldt dat Brabham zich bij de internationale autosportbond FIA heeft aangemeld voor 2010.

Brabham Grand Prix Ltd is nu in handen van een Duits bedrijf onder leiding van Franz Hilmer, die vorig jaar delen van de failliete boedel van Super Aguri kocht. Brabham werd in 1960 opgericht, won 35 Grands Prix en zes wereldtitels en keert volgend seizoen dus mogelijk terug in de Formule 1.

De Italiaanse krant Corriere della Sera bericht ondertussen dat een groep anonieme Italianen ook een inschrijving ingediend heeft. Bronnen binnen de FIA zouden dit bevestigen. De lijst met potentiële nieuwe teams wordt alsmaar langer. Naast Brabham en de Italiaanse groep was van March, Lola, Prodrive, Superfund, USF1, Litespeed en Campos Meta1 al duidelijk dat ze toe willen treden tot de Formule 1.
