Doornbos: "Texas is een van de meest uitdagende ovals"

Het zijn drukke tijden voor Robert Doornbos. De Newman/Haas/Lanigan-coureur besteedde vrijwel de hele vorige maand aan de Indy 500, racete afgelopen weekend nog in Milwaukee en moet komend weekend alweer aan de bak op de Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Drie races op drie totaal verschillende ovals.

Doornbos: Toen we eerder dit jaar hier in Texas testten zorgde de banking voor een geweldige ervaring. Bovendien ging het goed tijdens die sessie. Ik kwam snel in een goed tempo en we hebben nuttige data vergaard voor het seizoen. Dit wordt pas mijn vierde race op een oval, dus ik leer elke keer nog bij.

Ik heb gehoord dat de race op de Texas Motor Speedway een van de mooiste evenementen van het seizoen is en dat het zeer enerverend is aangezien je hier met drie man naast elkaar kan rijden. Het is een van de meest uitdagende ovals van het jaar. Ik kijk daar naar uit nu ik wat ervaring op andere ovals heb opgedaan.
