Vice-voorzitter FOTA: "Opzetten eigen serie is een optie"

De teams verenigd in FOTA verwachten vandaag een brief van Max Mosley, president van de internationale autosportbond FIA, te ontvangen. Daarin zou een officiele reactie van de federatie op de voorstellen van het teamverbond moeten staan.

De renstallen zijn namelijk nog steeds niet happig op de invoering van een budgetlimiet en al helemaal niet op de manier waarop Mosley dat voor ogen heeft. Mocht de situatie niet veranderen, dan is het opzetten van een eigen raceserie een optie voor de teams. Dat bevestigde Toyota-directeur John Howett, tevens vice-voorzitter bij FOTA: We zijn niet op zoek naar een confrontatie, maar we moeten onze opties afwegen en een alternatieve serie hoort daar bij.
