Button krijgt steeds meer bewondering voor Michael Schumacher

Brawn GP-coureur Jenson Button staat al het hele seizoen eerste in de stand om het kampioenschap Formule 1. Een positie die zevenvoudig wereldkampioen Michael Schumacher wel gewend was. Voor Button is het nieuw en hij voelt de druk. De Engelsman krijgt steeds meer waardering voor de jarenlange topprestaties van Schumacher.

Button: Ik begrijp nu waarom hij met pensioen is gegaan. Ik weet zeker dat hij tijdens die jaren aan de kop ongelooflijk veel stress ervoer. Het klinkt misschien stom, maar vooraan staat er veel meer op het spel. Dat gaat gepaard met veel meer druk dan achteraan meerijden. Ik heb beide situaties meegemaakt en heb nu veel meer stress dan vorig jaar.
