Williams: "Bij afscheiding teams gaan wij door met FIA"

Mochten de teams een alternatieve raceklasse opzetten, dan verhuist Williams in elk geval niet mee. De Britse renstal werd eerder al uit teamverbond FOTA gezet vanwege de onvoorwaardelijke inschrijving voor het wereldkampioenschap 2010.

Die schorsing neemt permanente vormen aan. Teambaas Frank Williams: Wij liggen er uit. De andere teams vertelden ons dat we geschorst zijn. Als je op school geschorst wordt, dan heb je ook niet de neiging om daar naar terug te keren. En mocht het tot een alternatieve raceserie komen, dan gaan wij door met de FIA (internationale autosportbond, red.). Maar ik denk niet dat het zover komt, anders hadden ze wel door de paddock gestruind om teams voor de nieuwe serie te werven.
