FIA ontving inschrijvingen van vijftien nieuwe teams

Vijftien potentiële nieuwe Formule 1-renstallen meldden zich aan bij de internationale autosportbond FIA. US F1, Manor Grand Prix en Campos Grand Prix zijn de gelukkigen gekozen om samen met de tien huidige teams de grid op te vullen.

Er hangt echter nog een groot vraagteken boven de deelname van de acht FOTA-teams. De internationale autosportbond FIA gaat daarom door met de gesprekken met de nieuwe teams die niet door de eerste schifting kwamen.

De FIA verkaart: Tijdens de inschrijvingsperiode ontvingen wij inschrijvingen van vijftien mogelijke nieuwe teams. Al die renstallen werden grondig onderzocht om te kijken of ze over voldoende middelen, geld, ervaring en kennis beschikken om op het hoogste niveau van autosport te acteren.

Drie teams zijn bevestigd voor 2010 en in afwachting van de resultaten van de onderhandelingen met de huidige renstallen gaan de gesprekken met de andere nieuwe teams door.
