Ecclestone: "Ruzie gaat niet over regels, maar over macht"

De crisis waarin de Formule 1 momenteel verkeert is niet ontstaan vanwege de regels die de internationale autosportbond FIA wil invoeren. Het gaat om de macht over de sport, die de teams willen hebben. Dat stelt Bernie Ecclestone in Auto Motor und Sport.

Flavio Briatore wil een nieuwe serie opzetten en alles zelf beslissen. Luca di Montezemolo heeft een probleem met de FIA-president. En bij John Howett vraag ik me altijd af wat hij wil. Volgens mij weet hij het zelf ook niet. De rest wil dat al het gedoe stopt zodat ze zich kunnen concentreren op de sport. Het gaat niet over kostenbesparingen of reglementen, het gaat over macht, aldus Ecclestone.
