Ecclestone zet Argentinië aan tot bouw nieuw Formule 1-circuit

Als Argentinië in de toekomst nog een Grand Prix wil organiseren, dan moet het een nieuw circuit bouwen. Dat stelt Bernie Ecclestone, commerciële baas van de Formule 1. Hij ziet een terugkeer naar het Zuid-Amerikaanse land wel zitten, maar zonder geschikte baan gaat dat niet lukken.

In 1998 was Argentinië voor het laatst gastheer van een Grand Prix en de locatie was het Autodromo Juan y Oscar Galvez in Buenos Aires. Ecclestone op de vraag of daar opnieuw een race kan plaatsvinden: Nee. In Diario Sport zegt hij verder: We zijn geïnteresseerd om naar Argentinië te gaan, maar dan moeten de promotors wel iets doen. Ze dienen een nieuw circuit op te bouwen. Volgens de Argentijnse krant Critica behoort ook een stratenrace tot de mogelijkheden.
