IRL: Dixon zegeviert op Richmond, Doornbos negende

Het team van Chip Ganassi heeft de race op de oval van Richmond gedomineerd. Aan het einde van de driehonderd ronden reed Scott Dixon voor teamgenoot Dario Franchitti onder de finishvlag door. Graham Rahal sleepte voor Newman/Haas/Lanigan de laatste podiumplek in de wacht.

Diens teamgenoot Robert Doornbos reed van een twaalfde startplek naar een negende positie. De Nederlander over zijn race: Ik heb hard voor dit resultaat moeten knokken. Ik ben heel blij met de opgedane ervaring. De wagen thuis brengen was heel belangrijk voor ons. Het team had de auto goed afgesteld, het was een plezier om te rijden. Jammer genoeg hadden we twee keer pech met neutralisaties. De snelheid was goed, zeker op nieuwe banden. Met iets meer geluk waren we hoger geëindigd, maar dit is een solide resultaat. Dit maakt me sterker op de ovals, maar om eerlijk te zijn kijk ik wel uit naar de gewone en stratencircuits.
