Mosley wijst niet FOTA-leden op inspraak bij nieuwe regels

Max Mosley, voorzitter van de internationale autosportbond FIA, heeft de niet FOTA-leden via een brief, gelezen door Autosport, bewust gemaakt van het feit dat hun goedkeuring nodig is voor de reglementen voor 2010. Alle deelnemers hebben inspraak op de nieuwe regels en veranderingen daaraan zijn niet toegestaan zonder unanieme instemming.

Mosley schreef aan een van de niet FOTA-leden: Zoals jullie misschien wel weten zegt artikel 66 van de Internationale Sportieve Code dat regels niet aangepast kunnen worden zonder dat alle bevestigde deelnemers het licht op groen zetten. Resultaat daarvan is dat elke regelwijziging voor 2010 jullie goedkeuring nodig heeft.

Ik vraag jullie daarom om spoedig met de FOTA in beraad te gaan en tot een overeenkomst te komen over geschikte contracten en regels waar alle teams zich in kunnen vinden. Mochten problemen zich aandienen, dan schakel ik graag het Senaat van de FIA in, maar ik hoop dat dit niet nodig is. Bij overeenstemming dient de FIA op de hoogte gebracht te worden, zodat wij de reglementen kunnen formaliseren.
