Todt heeft wel oren naar FIA-voorzitterschap

Voormalig Ferrari-teambaas Jean Todt heeft bevestigd dat hij zich verkiesbaar wil stellen als voorzitter voor de komende FIA verkiezingen later dit jaar. Eerder was het oud rally coureur Ari Vatanen die zich verkiesbaar stelde als opvolger van Max Mosley. Mosley bevestigde gisteren dat hij zich niet herkiesbaar zal stellen. De Brit vertelde tegelijkertijd dat hij in Todt de ideale opvolger ziet.

Jean Todt is zonder twijfel de opmerkelijkste manager van zijn generatie. Als hij tot voorzitter wordt verkozen denk ik dat hij de ideale persoon is om mijn werk van de afgelopen zestien jaar voort te zetten. Ik hoop dat hij veel steun krijgt, aldus Mosley.

Todt reageerde onmiddellijk op de woorden van Mosley. Nadat Mosley bevestigde te stoppen als FIA-voorzitter, en daarbij vertelde dat hij mij als ideale opvolger zag, heb ik meteen contact gezocht met de FIA om ze te vertellen dat ik wel oren heb naar de functie van FIA-president. Het is mijn bedoeling om het opmerkelijke werk van Mosley voort te zetten. Mosley heeft zestien jaar lang veel goeds gedaan voor de autosport.

Todt heeft behalve zijn eigen positie ook al enkele namen genoemd die hij in zijn team wil hebben mocht hij werkelijk verkozen worden tot FIA-voorzitter: De afgevaardigde voor de positie leidinggevende mobiliteit stel ik aan jullie voor; Brian Gibbons, voorzitter van de Nieuw-Zeelandse autovereniging. De afgevaardigde voor de positie van leidinggevende sport is Graham Stoker, voorzitter van de Britse autosportbond. Op de positie van voorzitter van het Senaat wil ik jullie voorstellen aan Nick Craw, voorzitter van de ACCUS en huidig FIA-voorzitter sport, aldus Todt.

Lijkt me een goede keuze. Hij weet hoe het er aan toe gaat en lijkt me geen man die rare plannen heeft.

  nu kun je wel zeggen zielige reacties maar dat is gewoon de waarheid! zo iemand kan nooit geloofwaardig zo\'n functie uitvoeren. zo iemand moet onpartijdig zijn en dat is hij zeker niet! dat is trouwens geen enkel ex teambaas.
