Red Bull Racing: "Meer dan twee teams strijden om zeges"

De tijd dat Brawn GP en Red Bull Racing uitmaakten naar wie de winst in Grands Prix ging is voorbij. Dat vertelde Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner tegenover Autosport. Meer teams hebben zich aan het front gemeld en het gaat niet alleen meer tussen de twee titelkandidaten.

Horner: Meer autos mengen zich in de strijd. De Grand Prix-zeges worden niet meer beslist tussen twee teams, er zijn meer gegadigden. McLaren maakte een grote sprong in Hongarije en ze zijn de rest van het seizoen een factor om rekening mee te houden. Williams en Ferrari ogen ook sterk. We moeten er gewoon voor zorgen dat als we niet kunnen winnen, dat we zoveel mogelijk punten scoren, zoals Mark Webber in Hongarije deed.

We hebben nog genoeg nieuwe dingen op komst. De zomerpauze komt wat dat betreft niet goed uit, maar de jongens verdienen vakantie om de batterij op te laden voor het slot van dit seizoen. We hebben genoeg ontwikkelingen onderweg. We proberen elke race extra prestatie aan de auto toe te voegen en we bekijken het race voor race. Hoe het kampioenschap zich ontvouwt zien we dan wel.

Ik geloof er echt helemaal niets van dat de teams die zomerstop echt gebruiken voor een vakantie. De fabriek is misschien dicht, maar ze zullen toch heus wel een laptopje mee hebben waar ze desnoods de CFD server mee kunnen benaderen of zoiets.

Ferrari oogt sterk, ben benieuwd hoe sterk ferrari is met Schumacher.
Dat wordt weer een spannende optocht in valencia, pas in belgie wordt het weer echt racen.

  Zou het alleen niet zo zijn dat op Spa de McLaren en Ferrari gewoon weer niet in de buurt komen van de Red Bull?
  
  Hongarije is toch wel een beetje een uitzondering zoals Monaco en wellicht Valencia.
