Hill plaatst opnieuw vraagtekens bij plannen Donington Park

Oud Formule 1-coureur Damon Hill, tegenwoordig voorzitter van Silverstone-eigenaar BRDC, heeft opnieuw zijn twijfels geuit over de haalbaarheid van de plannen van Donington Park voor een Grand Prix. Donington Park sleepte een zeventienjarig contract in de wacht om de Britse race te huisvesten, maar daar is wel een grondige renovatie voor nodig.

Hill gaf tegenover Autosport toe zich zorgen te maken over dat project. Er is sceptisch omgegaan met de verhuizing naar Donington Park en misschien is dat wel terecht. Iedereen volgt gespannen de ontwikkelingen af omdat het mogelijk is dat Groot-Brittannië in 2010 geen race heeft. De gedachte dat een risicovolle strategie de Britse Grand Prix in gevaar brengt is zorgwekkend. Groot-Brittannië heeft de afgelopen jaren bewezen over de beste autosportfans in de wereld te beschikken. Het is niet goed dat die wellicht de dupe worden.
