Superleague Formula: Atletico zorgt voor eerste vrouwelijke coureur

Ho-Pin Tung krijgt een vrouwelijke opvolger bij Atletico Madrid. Maria de Villota is de eerste vrouw die haar opwachting zal maken in de Superleague Formula. De 30-jarige Spaanse was eerder actief in het World Touring Car Championship, de Spaanse Formule 3 en de Formula Palmer Audi. Tung maakt het seizoen af bij Galatasaray.

De Villota: Ik testte in november al met deze auto en het is de meeste krachtige wagen waar ik ooit in heb gezeten. Het is fantastisch om ermee te rijden, met enorm veel pks. De V12-motor en het uiterlijk doen denken aan een Formule 1-bolide. Ik kan niet wachten op mijn eerste race met deze auto. Dit is de grootste kans uit mijn carrière tot nu toe. Ik kom uit Madrid en het is een eer om Atletico te vertegenwoordigen. In Madrid hebben we twee succesvolle voetbalclubs, maar ik ben altijd voor Atletico geweest. Het is een club met karakter en zeer gepassioneerde supporters die de club ten alle tijden steunen.
