Vitantonio Liuzzi nog niet zeker van racestoeltje voor 2010

Vitantonio Liuzzi moet de komende vijf races bewijzen dat Force India een van de twee racestoeltjes voor 2010 voor hem moet reserveren. De Italiaan heeft er alle vertrouwen in dat hem dat gaat lukken. Liuzzi: Ik sta er goed voor.

Tegenover Autosport zei hij verder: Dit is een goede kans voor mij om te laten zien wat ik kan. Het is belangrijk om goed te presteren. Mijn positie in dit team is de afgelopen anderhalf jaar gegroeid en ik heb hard gewerkt om te helpen bij de ontwikkeling. Ik denk dat ik in een sterke positie voor de toekomst zit.

Bang voor een zelfde scenario als landgenoot Luca Badoer, die bij Ferrari instapte, tegenviel en inmiddels alweer is vervangen, is Liuzzi niet. Het is ook niet vergelijkbaar, hij had tien jaar niet meer geracet. Force India gaf me in 2008 veel kilometers en tot en met november was ik echt op tempo. De periode van stil zitten is voor mij veel korter en ik heb alle vertrouwen in een goede afloop.
