Podiumplek broodnodig voor Formule 1-toekomst van Renault

Renault bracht vorige week naar buiten door te gaan met de Formule 1, maar dat is bepaald geen gegeven. Goede prestaties zijn een vereiste en de Franse renstal balanceert op het randje. Het podium in Singapore duwt de balans weer richting een langere toekomst in de Formule 1.

Het resultaat helpt volgens interim-directeur Jean-Francois Caubet bij het overtuigen van de grote bazen dat ze de juiste beslissing namen om door te gaan in de Formule 1. Aan Autosport deelde hij mede: Het is niet zozeer een kwestie voor het hoofdkwartier, het is een kwestie van de Formule 1-renstal. Als de resultaten goed zijn, dan zijn er geen problemen. Bij mindere prestaties slaan de twijfels toe. En wij zaten precies op die grens.
