Williams zegt samenwerking met Toyota op voor 2010

Het team van Williams heeft een officieel verzoek ingediend bij Toyota om onder het contract voor de levering van motoren voor 2010 uit te komen. De Britse renstal lijkt in zee te willen gaan met Renault, maar flirtte ook al met Mercedes-Benz.

Toyota gaat het in elk geval niet worden. Teamdirecteur John Howett: We zouden Williams graag van motoren voorzien, maar zij willen dat niet meer. Ze hebben ons gevraagd om het contract voor volgend jaar op te zeggen. Als zij een andere partner willen, dan is dat hun zaak.

We zijn in staat om krachtbronnen aan een team naast ons fabrieksteam te leveren. We zijn met diverse partijen in gesprek. Mocht Williams nog terugkrabbelen, dan liggen de motoren klaar. Maar ik denk om meerdere redenen dat we uit elkaar gaan.
