Sponsor Pepe Jeans spreekt vertrouwen in Renault uit

Het team van Renault heeft na het vertrek van geldschieters ING en Mutua Madrilena eindelijk weer eens goed nieuws op sponsorgebied vernomen. Pepe Jeans veroordeelt ook de opzettelijke crash van Nelson Piquet in Singapore 2008, maar blijft het team wel trouw.

In een verklaring deelt Pepe Jeans mede: We keuren de racemanipulatie op geen enkele manier goed, maar de schuld daarvoor ligt meer bij de vertrokken individuen dan bij Renault als geheel. Ander goed nieuws voor de Franse renstal lijkt uit Rusland te komen, sponsor Megafon overweegt meer geld in Renault te steken. Het Franse Total zou met dezelfde gedachte spelen. Partner Universia vertrekt wel aan het einde van 2009.
