Silverstone gereed om Britse Grand Prix terug te nemen

Het circuit van Silverstone staat klaar om Donington Park af te lossen als gastheer voor de Grand Prix van Groot-Brittannië voor 2010. Silverstone huisvestte de Britse race jarenlang, maar voor volgend seizoen werd een contract afgesloten met Donington Park. Dat circuit heeft de grootst mogelijke moeite om de financiën op orde te krijgen.

Silverstone is bereid om de race terug te nemen. Damon Hill, voorzitter van circuiteigenaar BRDC, legt uit: We zijn gereed, maar we hebben nog geen contract met duurzame en betaalbare voorwaarden gezien. We willen een geweldige locatie voor de fans verzorgen, maar daar is wel een overeenkomst voor nodig die ruimte laat om te investeren in de faciliteiten zonder dat het bedrijf daarbij risico loopt.
