Williams kondigt officieel afscheid van Toyota aan

Mocht er nog een klein beetje onzekerheid bestaan of Williams door zou gaan met motorenleverancier Toyota, dan is die nu wel weg. De Britse renstal heeft officieel bekend gemaakt dat beide partijen uit elkaar gaan. Met welke motoren Williams dan in 2010 aan de start staat is nog niet duidelijk.

Teambaas Frank Williams: Toen ons team het zwaar had stapte Toyota naar voren en stemde in om ons vanaf 2007 tot en met 2009 van motoren te voorzien. Toyota is altijd een waardige partner geweest die onze onafhankelijkheid respecteerde en ons een klasse product leverde. We zijn trots om met ze samengewerkt te hebben en dankbaar voor de steun vanuit Keulen. Ik wil de engineers en techneuten die namens Toyota bij Williams hebben gewerkt apart bedanken voor hun tomeloze inzet.
