Scott Speed ziet zichzelf niet terugkeren in de Formule 1

Oud Scuderia Toro Rosso-coureur Scott Speed houdt zich totaal niet meer bezig met de Formule 1. De Amerikaan verdient zijn brood tegenwoordig in de NASCAR-serie. Een terugkeer in de Formule 1 speelt helemaal niet in zijn hoofd, ook niet nu met US F1 een Amerikaanse renstal toetreedt.

Ik volg de Formule 1 nauwelijks nog, vertrouwde Speed Formule 1.nl toe. Mijn toekomst ligt in Amerika. Ik heb een extreem goede relatie met Red Bull en dat is nooit anders geweest. Ik ben erg blij met wat het bedrijf voor me heeft gedaan en ik zal daarom ook altijd trouw blijven aan hen.

Ik zat bij Toro Rosso in een ongelukkige situatie, maar uiteindelijk ben ik blij dat ik de Formule 1 heb gehaald. De frustratie is allang weg, zelfs al voordat ik werd ontslagen. Dat was juist meer een opluchting. Ik ben nu een andere persoon dan in die tijd; ik ben rustiger geworden.
