Kwalificatie verloopt moeizaam

De Formule 1-coureurs hebben op dit moment te maken met de lastigste kwalificatie van dit seizoen. Q1 werd al regelmatig onderbroken vanwege de slechte weersomstandigheden, maar na een crash van Vitantonio Liuzzi werd de training stilgelegd.

Na het opruimen van de brokstukken is de kwalificatie niet meer van de grond gekomen door aanhoudend slechte weersomstandigheden. Tot op dit moment heeft de wedstrijdleiding geen beslissing genomen over de eventuele verdere afwerking van de training.

Q1 betekende het waterloo voor kampioenschapskandidaat Sebastian Vettel en de beide McLaren-coureurs. Voor Vettel belooft het een zware zondag te worden, want de jonge Duitser moet winnen om in de race te blijven voor het kampioenschap.
