Lucas di Grassi dicht bij contract bij Manor Grand Prix

Renault-testrijder Lucas di Grassi maakt veel kans om volgend jaar op de Formule 1-grid te staan. Zelf schat hij de mogelijkheid op minstens zeventig procent. De Braziliaan is in beeld bij Manor Grand Prix en zou al dicht bij een contract bij het nieuwe team zijn, alleen wacht hij voorlopig af wat Renault gaat doen met het tweede stoeltje naast Robert Kubica.

Di Grassi onthulde aan Autosport: Het ziet er allemaal vrij goed uit op dit moment. Nu ben ik nog verbonden aan Renault. Ze hebben nog een stoeltje open en ik heb hier een zeer succesvolle periode gekend. Renault heeft me veel geholpen en voorlopig blijf ik aan dit team verbonden. Dit is de tijd dat de stoeltjes worden ingevuld en ik weet van de belangstelling van de nieuwe teams, maar het is vooralsnog afwachten hoe die er voor zullen staan.

Van wat ik begrijp heeft Manor Grand Prix de zaakjes het best voor elkaar wat betreft technische mensen, marketing en financiële middelen. Het is een serieus team en ik zet ze hoog op mijn lijst. Mijn kans om op de grid te staan in 2010 bedraagt een goede zeventig procent. Het hangt van de komende weken af, het seizoen loopt ten einde en dan zien we wel of dat percentage stijgt of daalt.
