Rome geeft hoop op Grand Prix niet op, 2012 is het doel

De Italiaanse hoofdstad Rome laat zich niet uit het veld slaan door opmerkingen van Bernie Ecclestone. De commerciële baas zei in een reactie op de kansen van Rome op een Grand Prix dat er al te veel locaties zijn die een race willen.

Over nieuwe plekken als Zuid-Korea, India en mogelijk New York was Ecclestone meer enthousiast. Rome geeft de hoop echter niet op. Persbureau AP citeert burgemeester Gianni Alemanno: We beginnen de voorbereidingen met het oog op 2012, hopelijk voor een evenement in de zomermaanden.
