FOTA heet Todt welkom als nieuwe FIA-president

Teamverbond FOTA hoopt dat met Jean Todt aan de leiding van de internationale autosportbond FIA een nieuwe periode met nauwe samenwerking tussen de federatie en de teams aanbreekt. FOTA-voorzitter Luca di Montezemolo, in het verleden baas van Todt bij Ferrari, heet de nieuwe president van harte welkom.

De Italiaan stelt in een verklaring: Ik wil Jean Todt het beste wensen voor zijn nieuwe positie, ik heb zijn kwaliteit en toewijding altijd gewaardeerd. Ik weet zeker dat hij de FIA nieuw leven in zal blazen en het klimaat voor een open en constructieve dialoog met de teams en FOTA zal herstellen, daarmee zekerheid en stabiliteit voor de omgeving creërend. De Formule 1 staat voor een nieuwe fase. Alle stakeholders moeten samenwerken met het oog op de toekomst, om de geloofwaardigheid en interesse in deze sport te verhogen, om de uitdagingen op gebied van techniek en milieu aan te gaan en tegelijkertijd toch de waarden en aspecten die deze sport gemaakt hebben tot wat het is in ere te houden.
