Hamilton: "KERS brengt ons enorm voordeel voor Abu Dhabi"

McLaren-coureur Lewis Hamilton wil het jaar waarin hij wereldtitel kwijt raakte graag afsluiten met een zege. De Engelsman ziet daar genoeg mogelijkheden toe op het nieuwe Yas Marina Circuit, voor het eerst gastheer van een Grand Prix. De wereldkampioen van 2008 denkt met name veel profijt te hebben van zijn KERS.

Hamilton: We maken een fantastische tweede seizoenshelft door en het seizoen eindigen met een overwinning zou perfect zijn. Het zou ons vol gemotiveerd en met zin in 2010 de winter in sturen. Als de voortekenen niet bedriegen ligt het circuit van Abu Dhabi ons wel. Veel langzame bochten gevolgd door lange rechte stukken, dan zijn we met KERS enorm in het voordeel.

Aangezien het de voorlopig laatste race van KERS is willen we het systeem uitzwaaien met de winst. Dat zou fantastisch zijn en een mooi afscheid voor alle engineers bij Vodafone McLaren Mercedes die keihard gewerkt hebben om het beste systeem te ontwikkelen.
