Emotionele Heidfeld krijgt Formule 1-auto van Peter Sauber

Nick Heidfeld had het moeilijk tijdens de laatste ronden van de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi. Emoties over het mogelijk afscheid van het Sauber-team speelden op. Heidfeld: Het wordt nu erg emotioneel. Tijdens die laatste ronden had ik het echt zwaar om mijn concentratie vast te houden.

De Duitser reed over twee perioden verdeeld zeven jaar voor de renstal die de naam van Peter Sauber met zich meedraagt. Daar krijgt hij een beloning voor. Het team meldt: Als een bedankje voor de toewijding die Nick zeven jaar voor Sauber tentoon spreidde zal Peter Sauber hem een Formule 1-auto uit deze periode cadeau doen.
